The mother baby unit at Good Samaritan Hospital has always been a place of joy and excitement for so many families. For all the parents who delivered there it brings warm memories of those first days welcoming their new child into this world. Peeking into the nursery window and looking at the adorable babies and watching the nurses swaddle, feed, and lovingly care for them is exciting for parents, siblings, and friends who come to visit.
Now there is something else for visitors to enjoy! The hallways were recently updated with original artwork created exclusively for Good Samaritan Hospital.
This project is the result of many months of planning and collaboration between It's a Miracle Photography and the administrative team at GSH Maternity Dept.
A special shout out to Susan Sippel, MHSA, RN, Administrative Director Maternity, for having faith in me and giving me this amazing opportunity! It was almost a year ago when we first spoke and had this vision together to create something beautiful for the hallways. The idea evolved, and had to be approved on so many levels. It included the collaboration of the nurse managers and staff on the unit. Everyone had a say!
Now as new parents stroll up and down the hallways pushing their own little bundle of joy, they will be surrounded by this beautiful artwork to enhance their experience.
The babies featured in these images are representative of the wonderful diversity in our community. Most of them live right here in Rockland county, including one baby who is the child of GSH's very own Dr. Mill Etienne, Neurology.
