My childhood days have turned to weeks, months, and years.
Life is flying by.
I've been working as an RN since 2010, making a difference in peoples lives every day. I've supported families throughout the life cycle, through illness and healing, I've celebrated births and mourned losses. It is extremely meaningful work when you know what a difference you make at these critical moments.
Last year, I started my own photography business, It's a Miracle Photography. People often ask me why and how I went from being a nurse to a photographer - they don't see any connection between the two.
WHY A NURSE AND A PHOTOGRAPHER?
So let me explain; my mission is simply to CELEBRATE LIFE.
To help families hold onto and cherish that which is most valuable, and most fleeting.
Life is a gift, and every day you have with your loved ones is a blessing.
Working as an RN has taught me this. You never know what the next day will bring. Don't wait until it's too late to spend quality time with your family. Don't miss your kids childhood because you were too busy making a living. Find that healthy work-life balance. And of course, document these memories!
My work as a photographer is just as meaningful as being a nurse. Portraits bring families closer. Sessions are fun and a time for parents and children to embrace and connect. Each time you see your beautiful family portraits on your walls, it's an affirmation of what's important.
In nursing there's a phrase "if you didn't chart it, it didn't happen." Everything we do as nurses needs to be in the official record, otherwise it's as if it was never done.
I feel that way about life too. Documenting important moments immortalizes these memories. It makes them live on, years later when you look back and remember. Quality printed portraits, whether on the wall or in an album will remain in the family for generations and always be treasured.
